Indoor goalkeeper training for the Inland Empire

The Inland Empire has a huge youth soccer community and long summers that make outdoor evening training hard. Our sessions take place indoors, on the turf arena of the Scheu Family YMCA of Upland, so goalkeepers train on the same surface every week, under consistent lights, in any weather. No YMCA membership is needed, and families park in the YMCA’s regular lot.

Indoor work is also where our head coach built his career. Claysson De Lima has played professionally in the Major Arena Soccer League, an indoor league where shots come from close range and reactions decide games. That experience shapes every session: quick feet, fast hands, brave decisions and getting up immediately for the rebound.

Friday groups by age

• 7:00 to 8:00 pm, ages 8 to 13. Footwork, catching technique, safe diving progressions and game situations adapted to younger keepers.
• 8:00 to 9:00 pm, ages 14 to 16. Explosive diving, crosses, one-on-ones and distribution for competitive club and high school goalkeepers.

Camps in the Inland Empire

The academy runs goalkeeper camps in the region during school breaks. Summer camp takes place at the YMCA in Upland, and the Thanksgiving Goalkeeper Camp takes place at Koehler Park in Fontana. Camps are open to every goalkeeper, students or not.

Who trains with us

Goalkeepers come from across the western Inland Empire, including Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Claremont, Montclair, Chino and Fontana. They keep playing for their clubs and use the academy for the specialist goalkeeper work team practice cannot always offer.

Group, private and game analysis

Families can choose weekly group training, private one-on-one sessions, or a game analysis with a PDF report and a video call. Group memberships are monthly and can be canceled anytime. Training and family support are available in English and Spanish.
